We are pleased to announce that Christian Schütze has been appointed as Wells Engineering Manager at GL Group LLC, effective April 13, 2026. In this role, he will report to Murad Guliyev, Group Drilling & Wells Director.
Christian brings over 20 years of international experience in the energy sector, spanning oil and gas as well as geothermal and non-conventional operations. Throughout his career, he has worked predominantly in North and West Africa, with additional experience in the North Sea and the Middle East.
He brings a strong hands-on approach combined with deep technical expertise in drilling and project execution across complex environments, including deep-water, shallow water, and onshore operations. With his analytical mindset and ability to develop effective strategies in challenging situations, Christian has a proven track record of delivering projects safely, efficiently, and within budget.
As a Wells Engineering Manager, Christian will oversee all key phases of onshore drilling operations within the Drilling Program, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
Christian holds a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the Mining University of Leoben in Austria, his home country.
