New team member- Nicola Fetta

We are pleased to announce the engagement of Nicola (“Nick”) Fetta as Reservoir Development & Technology Consultant at GL Group LLC, effective June 1, 2026.

Nick joins GL Group to support the continued strengthening of the Group’s Reservoir Development and Technology capabilities and strategic subsurface agenda. During his engagement, he will work closely with the Technical Functions leadership team on key Reservoir Development and Technology priorities, capability building, and knowledge transfer initiatives to support the long-term development of the function within the Group.

Nick is a petroleum engineer with over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. His work spans reservoir characterisation, reservoir simulation, production surveillance, reserves classification, and field development planning, for conventional, tight carbonate, and unconventional reservoirs, and he has held senior technical and management roles with consultancies, IOCs, and national oil companies.

Most recently, he has provided subsurface advisory for fractured carbonate reservoirs in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Before this, as Head of Reservoir Engineering at Staatsolie, Suriname's national oil company, he led subsurface assurance of field development plans across the company's asset portfolio and managed technical deliverables with IOC partners including Shell and TotalEnergies. At ADNOC he advised on upstream concession agreements and on the early development of the UAE's unconventional resource programme.

He is also a co-founder of LandGate, a US data and analytics platform for energy land and resource valuation. Earlier, as Chief Petroleum Engineer at Ruspetro, he led a multidisciplinary subsurface and operations group across mature onshore fields in Western Siberia, with responsibility for field development and reservoir surveillance. His earlier career included integrated subsurface and reserves studies with iReservoir, reservoir engineering for the Niobrara, Marcellus, and Eagle Ford plays with Noble Energy, and reservoir and production engineering roles with companies including Halliburton, El Paso, and Wintershall, having begun in geophysics.

He is an active member of the SPE and has chaired and contributed to technical forums on the exploitation of tight and fractured carbonates. He holds a BSc in Exploration Geology from the University of Wales, Cardiff, and an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London, and is a Chartered Engineer with the Energy Institute (UK). He also maintains an active research interest in enhanced recovery in fractured unconventional reservoirs.

Please join us warmly welcoming Nick to the GL Group team, and in wishing him every success in his engagement and future endeavors.
