Ramil was appointed as the General Manager of Salyan Oil Limited reporting to Vice-President of Operations in January 2022. He has extensive experience with over 23 years in the oil and gas industry.  Throughout the years, Ramil has held the following positions:

• Operations Production Supervisor for Oily Rocks, SOCAR for 6 years. He was responsible for managing the site production team, delivering production commitments, and conducting safe and efficient operations.
• Technical and Leadership Positions, such as Operations Production Supervisor, Operations Team Leader, and Offshore Installation Manager on one of Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli platforms and Operations Discipline Manager for bp during the last 18 years 
• Ramil has also led the implementation of new ways of Working and New organization structure at bp in 2018.

Ramil was awarded the “Honorary Oil Worker” badge by SOCAR president in 2019 in recognition of hard work to support Azerbaijan’s oil industry growth.

Ramil holds a BSc degree and an Engineering Diploma in Reservoir Engineering from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy.

Nahid Nuriyev serves as the General Manager of GL Group’s affiliate, Taghiyev Operating Company (TOC). Nahid Nuriyev joined GL Group on June 2, 2022.

Nahid Nuriyev is a seasoned operations professional with 18 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, bringing strong expertise in production operations and proven leadership capabilities.

Prior to joining GL Group, he built a strong career at SOCAR’s “Azneft” Production Union, progressing through key operational and supervisory roles. His experience includes serving as an Oil and Gas Production Operator, Field Geologist, Field Supervisor, Engineer-Technologist, and later as the Head of Deepwater Offshore Platforms, including the No. 3 and No. 14 Deepwater Offshore Platforms of the 28 May Oil and Gas Production Department.

Nahid Nuriyev holds a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Geology and Petroleum Engineering from the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy and a master’s degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, specializing in oil and gas field development, from the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (Ukraine).

He began his career at SOCAR’s “Azneft” Production Union as an Oil and Gas Production Operator.

He has been recognized for his professional contributions with SOCAR’s Honorary Certificate for Service to the Oil and Gas Industry.

Nurlan Gashamli was appointed Managing Director of GL Technical Services LTD in August 2024.

Nurlan is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in brownfield asset development. He has led multidisciplinary teams in complex operations, including well workovers, interventions, and completions, successfully rehabilitating both offshore and onshore fields for Bahar Energy Operating Company Limited and GL Group assets.

Under his leadership, numerous wells have been brought back into production through challenging workover operations. Nurlan has also contributed the company's improvement plan, integrating new technologies to enhance field development and manage multiple divisions for technical and commercial efficiency in long-term projects.

Nurlan holds a BSc from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University and Azerbaijan State Economic University. He is certified in Oil & Gas Industry Operations and Markets by Duke University, UK Petro Skills CUE, and Aberdeen Drilling School. He is also a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Murad Guliyev was appointed Group Drilling & Wells Director at GL Group in October 2025, reporting to the Group Senior Vice-President for Technical Functions & International Operations.

Murad is a drilling and wells professional with over 22 years of international experience across Azerbaijan, the USA, the UK, and the Middle East. He has held various technical and operational roles at major energy companies, including bp, Eni, and Saudi Aramco. His experience covers projects such as ACG, Shah Deniz, Thunder Horse, Atlantis, Ghawar, and Shaybah.

His expertise spans the full lifecycle of well delivery from concept and engineering to execution and performance optimization, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.

Murad holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University.

Ahmad Babayev was appointed Group Information Technology Director of GL Group in August 2026.

With more than 20 years of international experience in information and digital technologies, Ahmad has worked across the oil and gas industry in Azerbaijan, Russia, and the wider Caspian region.

Prior to joining GL Group in 2021, he held various technical and operational roles at leading energy companies, including Karasu Operating Company and Baker Hughes. His professional expertise spans IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital transformation, technology operations, and project management. In his current role, Ahmad leads GL Group’s IT and digitalization strategy. He is responsible for ensuring secure and resilient technology operations, modernizing the Group’s IT infrastructure, and effectively integrating digital technologies into business and operational processes.

Ahmad holds a BSc in Multichannel Telecommunication Systems from Azerbaijan Technical University and an MSc in Environment and Petroleum Industry from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy.

Orkhan Mustafayev was appointed Reservoir Development Director of GL Group in June 2026.

Orkhan has over 7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining GL Group, he spent more than four years with Gazprom Neft in Russia, where he held reservoir engineering roles supporting the development of major producing oil assets.

Since joining GL Group in 2024, Orkhan has taken on progressively broader leadership responsibilities across the Group’s upstream portfolio. He has played a key role in shaping field development strategies and advancing major subsurface and growth initiatives across GL Group’s assets in Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

In his current role, Orkhan leads the Reservoir Development function, overseeing reservoir and petroleum engineering and driving development strategy, production growth and long-term value creation across the Group’s upstream portfolio.

Orkhan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Udmurt State University and a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University.
