We are pleased to announce the promotion of Orkhan Mustafayev to the role of Reservoir Development Director at GL Group LLC, effective June 1, 2026. This appointment reflects GL Group’s continued focus on strengthening its subsurface and reservoir development capabilities to support the company’s operational priorities, production optimization objectives, and long-term strategic growth agenda.
Throughout his time at GL Group, Orkhan has played a key role in supporting our strategic subsurface initiatives, identifying production enhancement opportunities, evaluating drilling and workover candidates, and coordinating multidisciplinary reservoir studies to support GL’s depletion strategies and development plans. He has worked closely with all departments to support efficient field operations and activity delivery.
In his new role as Reservoir Development Director, Orkhan will be responsible for leading the Reservoir Development function, strengthening subsurface engineering capabilities, supporting field development and production optimization activities, and contributing to the company’s long-term technical and operational objectives, with strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and operational excellence within GL Group.
Orkhan holds a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and continues to actively lead GL's reservoir management practices and integrated subsurface workflows.
