GL to cooperate with a global energy technology company Baker Hughes

GL Technical Services (GLTS), a flagship subsidiary of GL - the first privately owned Azerbaijani energy company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global industrial service leader Baker Hughes. This enables GLTS to access cutting-edge technologies and elevate staff competencies to a global industry level for addressing operational challenges, including yield increase in production, cost optimization, and efficient operations.

Established in November 2022, GLTS strives for technical excellence, swiftly evolving into a pivotal player in Azerbaijan's dynamic energy sector delivering innovative solutions and services. Equipped with modern technology, GLTS aims to become one of the regional key players in the energy technology sector.

GLTS holds cutting-edge technical capacities in geophysical expertise, including US-manufactured wireline truck units, equipment and systems for a comprehensive range of services, and advanced technological solutions that result in high-precision well data acquisition.

The company has recently acquired the latest modern technology workover rigs, including four 350-horsepower 60-ton and one 550-horsepower 100-ton rigs, positioning GLTS as one of the important players in workover and well services in Azerbaijan.

In a signing ceremony of the MoU in Baku, Azerbaijan GL's CEO, Asif Zeynalov, noted that the collaboration with Baker Hughes signifies a strategic move for GLTS, providing access to global modern industry technologies, thus creating opportunities for GLTS to become a regional player. “I am very happy with this collaboration, which underscores GL's unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation within the energy sector,” said Mr. Zeynalov.

While making his speech, Samir Alasgarov, Baker Hughes Caspian Countries Director mentioned that “with Baker Hughes On-Demand Solutions we can collaborate with our partners through ABM (Alternative Business Model) approach to open new and meaningful partnership, which enables GL and BH to work together as partners to approach new opportunities jointly by sharing resources, when needed.”

GL conducts oil and gas operations across five fields in Azerbaijan, including "Kursangi" and "Garabaghli" in the Salyan region and "Buzovna-Mashtaga," "Gala" and "Zira" in the Absheron peninsula. GL's business portfolio includes operating companies such as "Salyan Oil Limited," "Taghiyev Operating Company," and "GL Technical Services" LLC which provides a diverse set of services in the oil and gas industry.
